Director of Marketing and Communications at Crisis Center of Tampa Bay
Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida Area
As the new Director of Marketing and Communcations at the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay, I am responsible for communicating to a wide range of target audiences, both internally and externally, the mission of the Crisis Center and the resources we provide to the community. The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay is a comprehensive mental health agency offering front line crisis intervention services to persons experiencing serious trauma, such as sexual abuse or assault, as well as information and referral and support services to persons coping with the stress of everyday life. The Crisis Center employs a staff of 170 paid professionals and 200 volunteers. It provides services to over 800 Tampa Bay residents daily.
I recently graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Public Relations, and minors in both Business Administration and Communications. I interned at Moffitt Cancer Center in media relations and at Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation in special events, working on Key to the Cure 2007, Moffitt Bowling "Ball" at Splitsville 2008 and Magnolia Ball 2008. My last semester, I interned with CEO Lounge radio show (www.tampabayceo.com/ceolounge).
Networking is a great opportunity to meet new people and share common interests both professionally and personally so I am involved with PRSA Tampa Bay Chapter, EMERGE Tampa Bay for young professionals, EWomen Network, 97 West, Child Abuse Council volunteering, and NITE (Necessary Improvements to Transform our Environment) at USF, which I previously was president of during college.
I have a passion for people, especially children, and I would eventually love to be an executive director for a nonprofit that specializes in child abuse, sexual abuse or domestic violence. I want to make a difference in the lives of others.
I am just taking one day at a time...one project at a time...one person at a time, and maybe one day I can change the world :)
