Jackie Willis’s Summary
Previously a teacher of French and German for 28 years, I became an ADI (Approved Driving Instructor) in 2002. Since then I have added the Diploma in Driving Instruction (Dip.DI), DIAmond Advanced Special Test, DIAmond Advanced Examiner, DSA registered Fleet Driver Trainer. Care Motoring came about through my desire to train young drivers in defensive driving skills, giving them the tools of an experienced driver so that their post-test independent driving is much safer. Currently it is my opinion that learner drivers are taught only to pass the driving test and, unless they return to do Pass Plus, the Government's scheme for novice drivers which is not compulsory, then their safety is left very much to chance. I want our learners to expect to carry on learning with us into the novice driver phase, to become Considerate, Aware, Responsible and Eco-safe drivers, the best on the roads today! Within the corporate field, I want to have an impact on driver safety by coaching those who drive regularly in defensive driving techniques, encouraging them to take a pride in their driving and hopefully to enjoy this part of their working life.
