(Internet industry)
July 2008 — Present (1 year 5 months)
I started my business fulltime in August 2007 and didn't have one clue how to network, advertise or market my business. I just made a list of things I thought I should do and forged ahead. Many of the things I did back then were attend face to face networking events. After the events I started getting invited to "LinkedIn" and thought "WOW, this is cool!" I invited everyone after that.
I started using LinkedIn in November 2007 on a daily basis. I am for the most part, self taught. I dove in once I found the "value" of how to network, advertise and market my business using LinkedIn.
Last summer I took a course from Integrated Alliances, hosted by the founder Mike O'Neil and learned the last bit I needed to put me as a frontrunner for the Minneapolis LinkedIn knowledge team.
Now it's November 2009 and I have just capped 100 clients from LinkedIn. This is not including all the workshops and seminars I have conducted in the past year. I'm quite sure that between August 2008 to this past spring, I spoke to over 50 groups about LinkedIn.
Many of the things I have done to consider me a "Networking Goddess" include helping 100's of folks with Project Link It Forward last winter. This project was one of the most fulfulling and toughest things I have ever undertaken...but the payoff was beautiful. For those that we helped find a light for their tunnel....I look back and smile.

Last summer I came on board with LinkedMinnesota to help manage this group. In the past year I have organized events and send out messages about what the group is doing that I organized. A few months back the lunches needed a new life so I invited Suzy to come on and assist, she is doing a great job!
Finally, I have done my share of helping folks with LinkedIn. Whether it be learning and or just answering a quick question, I do my best to be an active participant of LinkedMinnesota.

During my senior year in college, I worked as an intern for the Sociology Dept reconstructing 4 of their dept websites. My final semester was spent as an intern for Winona County as a welfare fraud investigations assistant.
Hmm...Let's see, things I love to do! Garage sales, collecting retro furniture/decoratives, shopping, traveling to visit friends, shooting pool and a little this and a little that.
