I bring experience, passion, and creativity to my work as a web developer. My current obsession is pushing the boundaries of Actionscript 3.0 application development utilizing OOP and MVC design patterns. I developed a custom podcast player for The Scientist.com, and RSS reader widget in Flash. Both are available for viewing through the browser or standalone web applications. I am also a speaker at the Art Institute of Philadelphia on web development and career issues.
As a person and a web developer, I am meticulous, logical and persistent. High quality standards and neatness describe me as a person and and my code. When I tackle a project I first sketch the project’s functionality to use as a blueprint. My greatest satisfaction is seeing a project through from inception to live on the web. Whether developing a small website for a new entrepreneur or revising a major pharmaceutical website, I find Information Architecture, design and most of all development to be incredibly satisfying.
I am an accomplished baker of cookies and cakes and find baking similar to web development. You can’t really stray from the recipe until you get to know the basics. If you try making substitutions without understanding the impact on the end product, things can go terribly wrong. Once you get the hang of things, you can really let your imagination run wild. This is the experience, passion, and creativity I bring to my work as a web developer.

I implemented the Site65 website redesign using strict accessibility standards targeting users 65 years and older. The print CSS ensures clear readable print-outs. The text resizer script sets a cookie so the text size settings persist as the user navigates the site. Web forms were developed using accessibility guidelines so they can easily be read by screen readers for the blind or handicapped.
In a separate project, I built a custom FLV player to be distributed on CD-ROM for the Healthy Lifestyles program IBC was launching that year.

I acted as IA, designer, and developer for the current incarnation of the Franklin Institute Web site. The primary challenge was organizing the massive amount of data strewn across the site into one cohesive structure. The fun part was integrating the video trailers for the IMAX theater in Flash. The original version of the trailers was a combination of Flash and CSS which expanded the viewing area over top of the page content to watch a large version of the trailer.

My primary responsibility at Whittman Hart was to manage production of the 5 websites of Centocor, the health care divisions’ largest client. I also was lead front-end developer on the Remicade.com site redesign, which won the 2005 Web Marketing Award in the healthcare division. The attention to detail in the front-end scripting and accessibility standards garnished high praise from the judges. I also had the opportunity to work on several other projects, including the Sherwin Williams Color Visualizer, built in Flex 1.0.
• Managed website production for Philadelphia office’s largest client’s 5 websites
• Create XSLT stylesheets to transform XML data, and output as HTML
• Work with Java Developers on styling struts form elements and enhancing form accessibility for all browsers
• Worked with Actionscript 2.0 custom classes in Flex on Sherwin-Williams.com (mostly debugging scripts)
