About me and my program: The Finance Leadership Development Program (FLDP) at Lockheed Martin is designed to prepare high potential employees for future positions in financial leadership. The program is a structured three-year curriculum with a combination of on-the-job experience and formal classroom training.
My rotational assignments incorporated aspects of financial planning and analysis, estimating and cost control, cash analysis, program accounting and finance, contracts, auditing, capital planning, strategy, budgeting/overhead, tactical staffing, business management and information technologies. As you can see, the experiential part of the program is comprised of job rotations and special projects, designed to provide a broad set of experiences. Each assignment concluded with a formal performance appraisal to assist with career planning and development.
