Bryan "Beau" Grant’s Summary

Bryan serves his clients as the managing broker and founder of Convivia Group, a commercial real estate firm. He returned to full time commercial brokerage in 2002 after eight years in the technology industry culminating in a serving as Director of Business Development at Linux General Store.

Bryan is very active in the community participating on the board of his rugby club serving in 2008 as the treasurer. He also serves currently, in 2008-9, as the Secretary of the Georgia Rugby Union. Elsewhere, he also serves on the boards of the Grant Park Conservancy and the Friends of Bitsy Grant Tennis Center, mostly providing input on IT related issues such as Social Networking, web site management, and the use of collaborative ASP tools for the boardmembers and staff to use and be more effective. He remains engaged in local politics as a Co-Chair of Social Media for Mary Norwood for Mayor of the City of Atlanta.

From a technology perspective, Bryan possesses knowledge both of hands-on infrastructure design and management as well as the business development and solution sales operations. In the past, Bryan held certifications such as Cisco CCNA, Novell CNE3/CNA4, Microsoft MCP, and Citrix Metaframe Administrator. He has been using Unix, VAX, BSD, and Linux systems since 1991.

In his spare time, Bryan enjoys spending time with family, camping, fishing with his three Labrador retrievers – Chip, Conner & Cami, travel, playing blues and rock guitar, and learning anything he can about everything. He served on The Canyons Resort ski patrol staff in 1997-98, the largest ski area in North America as of 2000. He is rather interested in exploring virtual realities for work and commerce such as Secondlife.com. He also is an avid hobbyist with alternative fuel energy technologies. He is also fluent in French, and conversational Spanish.
