Bruce Hubbert’s Education

  • Brooks Institute of Photography

    Film and Video 19881992

I studied Photography for 2 years primarily to learn lighting and camera positioning. I also learned processing and printing as well as the basic business of photography.

After the first 2 years I moved to the Film and video department where I studied professional filmaking from idea, through scripting, budgeting, casting, preproduction, principal photography, postproduction processing and editing and release.

I coordinated my curriculum to emphasize camera work (camera, lenses, film stock, compostion, lighting, camera moves and additional equipment such as cranes and dollies) as well as analog and digital video editing which is where I saw the editing process for film in the industry heading at that time.

After school, I worked on several independent film projects, movies of the week and commercials before moving to NYC to work in digital imaging.

    Activities and Societies:
Technical assistant in Film Dept. in charge of cleaning and maintaining equipment made available to students for check-out.

Certificate course at Panavsion in maintenance and operation of Panaflex cameras. (I could, at the time, deconstruct and rebuild a Panaflex jr in complete darkness)
  • Linfield High School

    Diploma , 19821984
