Bruce Elgort has over eighteen years experience applying his unique blend of technology and leadership skills to improve business performance for major national and international corporations. An accomplished IT Manager, his expertise includes strategic and tactical management philosophies geared toward revenue optimization and reducing costs.
Bruce has been able to develop an extremely versatile blend of creative and operational strengths. His hands on approach towards ownership of worldwide business and product technology are reflected in his work as IT Manager of SHARP Microelectronics of the Americas.
His concept creation and project management methodology have created outstanding practices and performance metrics along with the implementation of cost reduction strategies.
Bruce possesses a strong ability to identify operational deficiencies, develop improvement initiatives, and implement them effectively and efficiently. He has led a team responsible for design, development and implementation of a Global Design Win system that is used by international business units to manage, coordinate and close design-in business opportunities. He has also successfully led the transformation of a chaotic IT organization to that of a first class, customer focused department that has helped support the rapid growth and profitability of the company.
Bruce founded OpenNTF.org in 2001 − an open source community for Lotus Notes and Domino developers. OpenNTF has gone on to become one of the most popular web destinations for Notes and Domino developers. Bruce can be heard on his weekly “Taking Notes” podcast where he interviews various industry luminaries with regard to collaboration and social networking. Bruce has also recently launched a new site called "Idea Jam" which focuses on idea generation and promotion.
