•Participated in the planning, implementation and management of a multi-disciplinary, multi-state IPM project focused on reducing unnecessary pesticide use on sweetpotatoes in the Southeast US. This project involved four disciplines (plant pathology, entomology, weed science and horticulture) in four states (NC, LA, AL, MS). My research focused on identifying alternative reduced-risk fungicides and management strategies to control two postharvest diseases of sweetpotatoes, Rhizopus soft rot and bacterial soft rot.
•Conducted outreach on both large and small farms through one-on-one farm visits, small group impromptu demonstrations, presentations at farmer meetings and field days, and written publications (posters, newsletters, website, pamphlets).
•Successfully funded alternative fungicide research (focused on reduced-risk chemistries and biological controls).
•Directly supervised four undergraduate employees.

•Researched cultural methods (cultivar resistance and knowledge of biology) to manage a fungal pathogen affecting hostas (an ornamental plant).
•Involved in extension outreach through electronic and written communication, presentations, publications and one-on-one communication.
•Directly supervised two undergraduate employees.
