Andrea Brogi is an architect degreeded at the Architecture Faculty of Florence, Italy. Since his beguinnings he was part of the "intelligenzia" who tried to forsee the potentialities of digital medias both in comunication and architecture.
Nowadays is Contractor Professor at the Polytechnic of Milan with a course of 3D Animation and at the University of Milan with a course of Virtual Reality.
Beside the traditional architecture he has been working with the most important italian institution of Information and Communication Technologies for cultural heritage as digital architect to develop interactive system of Virtual Reality (ISTI-CNR; CRIBECU Lab. of Advanced Normal School; PERCRO Lab. of Sant’Anna School of Advanced Study; SIBA Lab. of University of Lecce).
He is involved in two European project too: ViHAP3D – Virtual Heritage: High Quality 3D Acquisition and Presentation and DHX – Digital Ecological and Artistic Heritage Exchange.
He directed several 3D graphic videos for advertisings, music and institutions demo-reel and developed some pilot projects for 3D cartoon tv series. He was envolved in the productive side of storyboards, animatics, character animations, lightings and compositing productions.
In the "old millenium" he founded Xlab # digital laboratory where he worked for 7 years as art director. In the "new one" he has been Mocap Animation Supervisor for Fulmini & Leopardi and for the italian 3DCG film "Dear Anne, the gift of hope".
Using MoCap system he planned and developed 3D Real Time digital events and interactive installations with digital characters. He was developing some theatre performance, in collaboration with Academy of Dramatic Art of Rome and the company Fortebraccio Teatro, using multiscreen projection scenes and interactions between real actors and the digital scenes.
