Bridgett Massengill is founder and President of Massengill Consulting, providing local governments and economic development organizations with innovative solutions to downtown development challenges. Prior to forming her own business, Bridgett successfully initiated Johnson City's first Main Street Approach to downtown revitalization and pioneered the city's first Downtown Redevelopment Loan Program as the executive director of the Johnson City Development Authority. She also authored and implemented Johnson City's first Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District for downtown. Additionally, she spent several years analyzing Tennessee's multi-billion dollar state budget and programs at the Tennessee General Assembly, and began her career at the Office of the Mayor Chattanooga, Tennessee during a time when the city's downtown was being reshaped. Bridgett has now taken her 12 years of governmental experience into the consulting world, helping a wide range of communities reach their economic development goals for a better, more vibrant city.
