CEO, Viget Labs, Web Consulting & Development Firm
Washington D.C. Metro Area
Co-founder & CEO of Viget Labs (viget.com), a full-service web consulting firm. We work with clients to plan, design, build, launch, and market their web sites / web products.
I do my best to set the strategic direction for Viget with the input of our amazing team. I'm the hands-on type, so I participate in our client engagements as well (particularly start-ups). I've also been known to speak at events on topics related to the web, and whenever I get the chance I'm out talking with smart people about joining us at Viget.

ExecutiveBiz is an online media company (blog / weekly email), executive networking organization, and business events company (weekly breakfasts, monthly luncheons, and bi-annual full-day conferences). ExecutiveBiz was launched in 2002 as an e-newsletter for the members of the Potomac Officers Club (POC), a leading CXO membership organization in the Greater Washington DC area.
My volunteer role in the POC afforded me the opportunity to co-found ExecutiveBiz with two other partners, who also started out part-time. It has since taken off with a dedicated full-time staff. I maintain an active (though part-time) role in the business.

December 1999 — Present (10 years )
I helped start Viget Labs in 1999. Our headquarters in just outside of Washington, DC in Falls Church, VA. We also have an office in Durham, NC.
Viget does 4 things in support of building world-class consumer-facing web sites:
1. strategic consulting
2. interactive design (user experience and visual design)
3. application development (all open source, predominantly Ruby on Rails)
4. online marketing (search, email, and social media)
Each group within Viget could operate as a premier specialized firm independently, but the way we work together to provide services to clients through a single relationship is what makes Viget unique. For some clients we do all of these things, for others, just one or two. Every engagement is customized.
Many of our clients are web start-ups, but we balance this work with traditional offline clients and non-profits as well.
