San Francisco Bay Area
I am a social entrepreneur, designer and producer specializing in marketing, promotions and communications. As a life-long social activist, my philosophy is based on Buckminster Fuller’s concept of using personal commitment and design science for global problem solving and sustainable success for humanity. My home office is in the Union Square neighborhood of San Francisco. Originally from New York, I have been active as a professional and civic community organizer in the Bay Area for over 25 years.
My firm Brian Webster and Associates provides consulting in sales, marketing, business development, social enterprise development, fundraising, special event production and community organizing. I have run my own high-tech media company and have extensive experience with media, advertising, marketing and promotions. I have produced many Internet and business-networking events including 415TECH. I published San Francisco’s Dot-Com Directory in 2000.
I recently designed and produced Instituto Laboral de la Raza’s Green Labor-Capital Breakfast at the Delancey Street Town Hall held on August 21, 2008 (www.ilaboral.org). I also produce Instituto’s annual fundraising Labor Awards Dinner, which is the largest Labor Awards event in the country.
I am also the manager of Sound Action, a virtual consultancy team based in San Francisco. Sound Action provides hands on services for producing events, raising funds and growing resources for organizations and worthy causes.(www.soundaction.com)
I am involved with several non-profit and NGO groups working on global and local social problem solving. I am long time volunteer with the ONE Campaign (www.onesf.org) and RESULTS (www.resultssf.org).
I am actively developing a new social enterprise and global citizen's campaign called Human Race Day (www.humanraceday.org) focused on creating political will to meet the Millennium Development Goals.
