VP of Engineering

Simple
(10 months)Portland, OR

I joined Simple as the second employee in a hands-on role and have transitioned into leadership positions as the company has grown. I took over the engineering organization in 2011 after our founding CTO left the company. Since I became the leader of engineering we've launched, grown our customer base to over 70,000, and tripled the size of our team.

As VP of Engineering, I am the senior-most technologist in the company and report to the CEO. My organization is responsible for the end to end design, development, deployment, and support of our product and technology stack. In addition I work actively with the executive management team providing strategic and tactical support across the entire company.

I manage 10 direct reports in a 30+ member engineering organization that includes frontend, backend, mobile, operations, data, and security teams. In addition, I partner with our product team to drive the product implementation process from inception to deployment. I also manage technical partner integration with all of our banking, finance, and technology partners.
