September 2008 — Present (11 months)
I am a remote worker for a publisher of products serving the Green Building sector primarily using PHP, MS SQL and MySQL. I act as technical lead on assigned projects across all lines of business for several custom apps. I manage vendor relationships and a short list of contractors, and provide guidance on technology strategies and process management. The most recent property for which I was the technical lead and solution architect is www.leeduser.com, currently in beta release.
(Privately Held; 10,001 or more employees; Hospitality industry)
May 2007 — August 2008 (1 year 4 months)
I was a lead software engineer in the App Dev area of IT. I developed custom C# applications, advised on technology trends and best practices, and managed some IT projects. I was the project lead on ETL using Oracle BI products, strategy lead in various areas including Web marketing and document management, and did a bit of app dev scoping for mobile devices, too. I was all over the map when it comes to app dev and management.
(Privately Held; 51-200 employees; Insurance industry)
January 2005 — May 2007 (2 years 5 months)
PHP/SQL development, some ETL/IDL (Foxpro/Progress/SQL/Sybase), data cleansing/management, custom reporting. We ran PHP in ISAPI mode in IIS, and one time I custom recompiled the PHP DLL for Sybase to maintain data consistency. We were all about getting it right the first time at the right layer.
(Government Agency; 501-1000 employees; Libraries industry)
February 2002 — January 2005 (3 years)
ASP/Access/SQL. I developed in classic ASP and brought the organization from a mostly flat HTML website and intranet to dynamic content. The intranet in particular was created from my task-based clickpath analysis which drove the technical and functional specs; I believe the taxonomies created are still in use today. All browser-based app UIs were designed to meet section 508 requirements.
