In October, 1999 I purchased Pivotal Glyph, a struggling online literary magazine from the publication's principal owner.
Leveraging my years in academia, I converted the operation into Pivotal Glyph America, a time capsule of American culture; increasing site traffic and gaining valuable experience that allowed me to assume control of the New Works Review (NWR) in late-2000.

March 1999 — August 2002 (3 years 6 months)
One of the most unique experiences of a lifetime.
New Works Review (NWR) is an online literary magazine founded in 1997 by a feisty social entrepreneur in her mid-70's; running the venture in the back shed of a Houston subdivision. With scant resources, she managed to recruit a staff and creative professionals to publish the magazine every quarter; never personally meeting most of the people she recruited.
I learned the internet's true power and potential through my association with the magazine.
