VP Business Development for Torque (InstantAction)
Eugene, Oregon Area
After joining InstantAction (GarageGames) early in 2007, I quickly was assigned leadership for Torque's design goals and licensing strategy. I've operated in a business development capacity for InstantAction as a whole, creating partnerships, licensing InstantAction's platform technology, and acquiring technologies to supplement the platform. My background prior to games was entirely in mathematical finance and modeling. I couldn't be happier with the move to the games industry.
I've also spoken at a number of games industry events. Here's a short history:
IGC October 2007 (Led 3rd Party Dev Tools Roundtable)
Beijing Summer 2008 (Games in Education)
Montreal International Games Summit Nov 2008 (Platform Panel)
iGames Summit March 2009 (Closing Panel)
GDC Session March 2009 (Future of Web Games)

I conduct the development and licensing of Torque, our cross-platform game development technology. I also lead our efforts to partner with other industry businesses and coordinate strategies to grow our business.

I applied pure math to investments from scratch. Interesting work developing heuristics for common investment and personal finance decisions. This required learning intricate details around tax treatment, reporting requirements, regulation and other nasty boring stuff too.
