Jim Brazell is a technology forecaster, public speaker, group facilitator and technology and media strategist. His consulting and speaking topics include community competitiveness, educational innovation, emerging
technology, emerging jobs and emerging creative communities.
For the past five years, Jim has performed contract work
for the Innovation, Creativity and Capital Institute at the
University of Texas. This work has included publications of
emerging technology forecasts, analysis and strategy for
the state’s community and technical colleges. He has led
teams in the study, forecasting and design of video game
based learning systems for the Fort Hood Army Battle
Command Training Center and University XXI and Fort
Sam Houston’s Non-Commissioned Officers Academy. He
also performed high technology commercialization and
strategy work for the UTEN - University Technology Enterprise
Network at the University of Texas.
Brazell’s clients include think tanks, companies, universities,
community colleges, workforce boards, economic development organizations and K-12 schools. Since 2003, he
has participated in science, technology and arts education
advocacy, regional collaborative alliances, international
technology commercialization, international innovation
policy and science and technology forecasting.
Brazell’s mentor is Francis X. Kane (USAF. Col., ret.), a principal member of “Project Forecast,” one of the most comprehensive long-range assessments of military science and technology undertaken after the launch of Sputnik.
