Today, Branndon is the Chief Information Officer for American Municipal Power (AMP). At AMP Branndon oversees all information technology and SCADA functions, projects and people. He is responsible for setting, facilitating and leading technology strategy and tactical execution.
Community involvement is very important to Branndon. He is very involved in the local, regional, and national IT community. He participates, shapes and speaks at a number of CIO and IT related events.
Branndon has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems, and a Master of Business Administration. Branndon has been honored as a semi-finalist for TechColumbus – 2010 Innovation Awards ‘Executive of the Year’, included in the DeVry Columbus Alumni Wall of Fame, and awarded with the DeVry Pinnacle. He holds a number of certifications, is an adjunct instructor at a local college, and spends free time with his wife Shannon and his son Jackson.

My staff included a diverse team specialized in help desk, desktop, server, network, telecom, data center support for both internal operations and delivery to clients. The internal Infrastructure was distributed among three data centers (Ohio, South Carolina, and Oregon) and included 500 + physical servers, 300+ virtual servers, 100+ network devices, and multiple SAN(s) and related equipment. The data centers also hosted the production environments for many client servicing state-wide voter registration, child support, and department of labor systems. My team delivered the infrastructure components of client projects ranging from 1 million to 100 million dollar in size.
My other responsibilities included:
- Overall IT strategy for the organization, including policies, procedures and best business practices.
- Data center build-out(s) and move of 300 + servers and related equipment.
- Budget planning and management of a 10 million + IT Budget.
- Project management of internal IT initiatives.
- Staff management, coaching and mentoring to increase productivity and effectiveness.
- Excellent vendor negotiation skills that have saved upwards of 1 million dollars in cost savings per year.
Senior Manager (9/2006 -02/2007)
I was responsible for all internal infrastructure and the personnel that supports it. This included over 600 physical servers and 300 + virtual servers (running multiple platforms) in three data centers throughout the US. I oversaw a national team responsible for delivery of help desk, LAN / WAN, telephony and data center support. I researched, reviewed and approved capital expenditures as well as short and long term IT initiatives. My team also delivered infrastructure components for a portfolio of projects ($300 million +)
