Ron Maurer’s Summary
“My interest in photography started the very day I made my first pinhole camera in a grade school science class and has continued to grow ever since.”
As a young man I explored many artistic avenues to express myself in a number of different media. However, I received the most awards and praise from my piers for photography.
In the mid 90’s I came to Colorado and I began to hike in the mountains and backpack in Rocky Mountain National Park. I really enjoyed exploring the park and its beautiful surrounding area. I knew after the first backcountry trip that I needed to take a camera wherever I went as every day a new discovery awaited.
As I spent more and more time in the mountains, my appreciation for nature’s beauty became deeper and my observations of nature have transformed a former need to express myself into a quest to share what is already expressed in nature for us.
