Mark Lee FCA CTA (Fellow) is the Chairman of the Tax Advice Network.
In addition to running the Tax Advice Network, which was founded primarily as a resource for accountants in general practice, Mark is also a respected speaker, commentator and blogger on UK tax matters and the accountancy profession - especially on subjects of interest to accountants in general practice. He has been interviewed for BBC Newsnight, Working Lunch, News and Breakfast.
By way of background Mark qualified as a Chartered Accountant (not the boring type) in 1982 and then worked his way up to become a partner in two top ten firms of accountants.
Having spent 25 years advising on tax and achieving a great deal in his tax career he realised that he had stopped getting a buzz from giving tax advice. “However, the profession has been so good to me over the years that I couldn’t walk away completely. And part of me missed the high profile role and responsibility I had when I was Chairman of the ICAEW Tax Faculty. I now feel I have regained that voice in my role as Chairman of the UK’s first independent network of tax advisers.”
Mark remains committed to the raising of standards within the profession and has developed somewhat of a passion in this regard - as evidenced by many of his talks and articles.
Essentially all of Mark’s activities revolve around helping accountants and tax advisers to build more successful businesses. He is renowned for his innovative ideas, commercial approach, infectious enthusiasm and professional presentations. He is an entertaining, engaging and inspirational professional speaker whose presentations have lasting impact.
