Executive Director at Saul and Dayee G. Haas Foundation and Nat'l Aviation Learning Center Director at Museum of Flight
Greater Seattle Area
Currently I am the first full-time Executive Director of the Saul and Dayee G. Haas Foundation. I am enjoying this challenge immensely and call this position my DREAM JOB! My biggest enjoyment is to watch our volunteers, college interns and board members realize that they each make a difference in the lives of our young people, by their involvement. This is truly a rewarding experience.
I continue to be involved on a very part-time basis as the National Sales Director for Aviation Learning Center with The Museum of Flight. This too continues to be a rewarding experience, with a strong focus on transitions, documentation, and project management.
My rewards throughout my career have been to find out what the needs of the organization are and strategically help to meet those needs. I enjoy getting lots of people involved and surrounding myself with people who also share in the vision to succeed.
Increasingly, I am intrigued with how to help the social sector become more sustainable. My passion is finding society or organizational needs and create a strategy to not just meet the needs, but exceed. I find myself increasingly interested in social entrepreneurship and citizen philanthropy. Currently I am working on a project to help non profits manage volunteers in a more effective manner, creating a software application (we are seeking non-profits who want to beta test!). This grew out of our own frustration of purchasing inadequate software that was too labor intensive and difficult to use and the fact that our volunteers wanted better communication (many are virtual). That said I would love any referrals.
Managing non profits, creating awareness and visibility of an organization, program development and implementation, strategic planning, creating a volunteer program, creating a sense purpose within a community around a common vision.
