I have spent the last twelve years working in web development. I began as a hobbyist and occasional contractor for organizations anywhere from the owners at my corner cafe to the Georgia Tech Research Corporation using HTML/CSS, and occasionally PHP and Ruby on Rails. I pride myself in writing code that is clean, accessible, and valid.

At Oasis, I had the opportunity to hone my web development skills. I utilized HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ASP.NET to construct robust large-scale web sites. I administered site hosting as well as a high-traffic SQL customer database for a Fortune 1000 retailer.
In this position, I also did some non-web software development in building Windows services. These services automated the reporting functions from our database to the client, including encryption, compression, and delivery.
Information Architecture is an additional interest, and I had the opportunity to offer consultation to clients regarding their IA needs.
I most enjoyed being able to be part of a team that takes research and group learning seriously. The development team at Oasis is top-notch, and I am proud to have been able to work alongside and freely exchange knowledge with them.

During my time with Ten Union Robots, I acted in a variety of scripted and improvised video sketches and mixed video and audio from multiple sources in real time. I vastly expanded my knowledge of cinematography through hands-on experience. I have been able to leverage my experience with Ten Union Robots in further projects.

I worked at State Street for the better part of a year and a half. I was intimately involved with the conversion of two major private wealth management clients onto the State Street accounting systems.
My participation in the conversion led directly to my quick promotion to Operations Specialist - the leader of my reconciliation team. In this capacity, I oversaw the reconciliation of over 200 external-custody high net worth accounts. I provided exceptional client service to our client (an internationally-respected investment firm) and communicated with them on a daily basis.
Within the team, I trained them on daily responsibilities, software systems, and as needed, managed their workload, and reviewed their work to ensure quality and consistency with standards, procedures, and protocols. I was also in charge of summarizing daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reporting data for review by client and upper management

I worked at the American Cancer Society for nearly two years as a Development Executive. My main role was to supervise the planning and execution of several concurrent large-scale Relay For Life fundraising events. I recruited, trained, and managed community volunteers of varying degrees of expertise. In my time there, I spent a significant amount of effort on researching and analyzing the volunteer training process and making improvements where necessary. As a part of this, I developed new and updated training manuals and presentations for groups of 10-200 volunteers.
I also developed new data management tools (particularly automated spreadsheets) to better handle the strict expense accounting requirements of the events.
I am especially proud of the fact that with my assistance, several volunteers achieved positions on national and regional advisory boards and councils.
