System Administrator at EDS for ABN AMRO and RBS
Guildford, United Kingdom
I have run my own computer consulting company (Hoekstra Systems Ltd) since Sept 1996. The experience listed below lists the customers I have had since then and a brief description of the work I did for each.
I am:
- a dedicated proponent of UNIX operating systems,
- a strong believer that the system administrators's primary goal
should be the empowering of the other users provided this is
consistent with the security and stability of systems and data,
- very interested in security matters in general, and
- interested in high availability solutions to computing requirements.
UNIX system administration, primarily Solaris up to version 10.
APL programming: all variants (including A+) on all platforms.
