IEM develops, produces, and markets innovative imaging, optical, and other sensor-based systems for safety and security applications in the transportation industry. By combining innovative sensor systems with advanced software, IEM creates intelligent solutions for use in vehicle inspection, security monitoring, and maintenance activities.
As manager of current and future R&D efforts at IEM Corporation I am responsible for assuring a constant and sufficent flow of funds to support an 18-24 month backlog of work for the company. I work with Company President to set and achieve a number of business goals including overall company growth through focused business development and development of new business opportunities. I also work with multiple government agency, private industry, and university contacts to monitor emerging needs and to develop appropriate team approaches to meeting those needs.
Outside of work I am an avid amateur photographer and maintain a daily photoblog that provides a visual documentation of my life and travels. I am an active member of the Photo Center of the Capital District, located in Troy NY.

June 2005 — Present (3 years 3 months)
Ok, not really a job. And forgingahead is not really a company. I use photography to tap into my creative side. I started forgingahead in June 2005 and have posted a new picture there almost every day since I started. Some days it is easy, other days I really wonder why I keep it up. Through forgingahead I have come to know some wonderfully creative photographers and other artists from around the world. Check it out at http://forgingahead.net ... and take your time, there are more than 1,000 photographs posted there and even more at the companion site Scanning My Life.
