In first grade, I won a gold medal at our school's science fair for making an oil well with an Erector Set. 45 years later, I built a huge retaining wall behind my house backfilled with 30 tons of rock and top soil by hand with a wheelbarrow---after each day's work in a very hot summer, I awarded myself a very cold few Sierra Nevadas.
