Bob Cargill -- who was named the New England Direct Marketing Association's "Direct Marketer of the Year" for 2009 -- is a copywriter, creative director and social media marketer who helps brands (commercial and non-profit) to strategize, develop and implement successful new marketing programs. Bob is known for his expertise as a direct marketing practitioner as well as his evangelism on behalf of blogs and other social media communications tools. Having labored in the marketing trenches since 1983, his work has been recognized with more than 40 awards, including Gold from the New England Direct Marketing Association for his blog, A New Marketing Commentator, and Silver for Best Copywriting. Bob has presented many times at industry events and has been published or quoted on the subjects of copywriting, direct marketing and blogging in numerous media outlets, including The New York Times, DIRECT Magazine and DM News. Bob is a Past President of the New England Direct Marketing Association and a graduate of the MetroWest Leadership Academy.

Bob has run 12 marathons (six for charity) and several hundred road races, including the Mount Washington Road Race, a seven-mile run up the tallest peak in New England, three times.

With over 20 years of experience as a marketing professional, Bob has written and/or managed the creative development of projects that have been honored with over 40 awards for creativity and results, including Best of Show and a Silver award for Best Copywriting from the New England Direct Marketing Association, plus the Axel Andersson Award for direct mail excellence from the publication, Inside Direct Mail.
Bob’s blog, A New Marketing Commentator (which he wrote from February 17, 2004 to May 10, 2006), was the first blog ever to be honored with an award — a Gold — from the New England Direct Marketing Association (NEDMA) at its 25th Annual Awards for Creative Excellence on April 6, 2006.
Bob is a Past President of the New England Direct Marketing Association (’99–’00), a Past President of two Toastmasters clubs and a graduate of the MetroWest Leadership Academy. He was recently named the New England Direct Marketing Association's "Direct Marketer of the Year" for 2009.
