Concept Developer & Partner at Partnerkracht
Amsterdam Area, Netherlands
Beside being a journalist and a photographer I'm an entrepreneur as well. As a journalist I often meet inspiring people with great plans, exceptional knowledge or just plain problems. Based on those meetings and my creative brain I like to make up exciting concepts.
I recently started with Partnerkracht with two partners. This is a regional businesscommunity with a newsletter an inspiring events. The most interesting part of Partnerkracht has yet to surface. I'm working on an algoritme and questionnaire to find the personality of a company. Just like at datingsites, Partnerkracht will match mostly SMB-companies with each other based on more then location and product or service. We will bring companies together who share the same vision on business. So bluejeans entrepreneurs meet bluejeans accountants or investors.
Next to that I'm developing more concepts. Some are based on matching people and businesses in an new way. There are loads of social networking sites but almost none of them broaden your network in real life. The are just digital summaries of what you already got. I will match you with the neighbour a couple of blocks away who shares the same interests. Not with a basic query but with intelligence.
Other concepts are just about the micro-communities that couples are. Think you know your wife? We will give you online tools to discover parts of her you never noticed!

February 2008 — Present (6 months)
Partnerkracht is a Dutch community for entrepreneurs. We have a bi-monthly newsletter read by some 20.000 subscribers. Next to that we are in the process of developing a unique way to match local companies not only by product or service but also by the culture of the company.
(Marketing and Advertising industry)
January 2007 — Present (1 year 7 months)
At Andersdenkers (Differentthinkers) we help 'slightly nerdy' companies with their marketing.
(Sole Proprietorship; Myself Only; Photography industry)
2006 — Present (2 years)
I started out as a professional photographer some years ago because I was sick and tired of the PR stock portraits that often illustrated my interviews. Nowadays I'm often hired as a photographer for the major ICT-magazines in Holland.
(Media Production industry)
1998 — 2008 (10 years)
As a freelance journalist I mainly write about ICT. I specialize more or less in information security and networking. The shift these days is from te more technical approach to the management side.
I'm probably one of the few stuttering journalists in The Netherlands wich makes an interview with me an event you'll always remeber ;-)
(Self-Employed; Myself Only; Design industry)
1984 — 1998 (14 years)
I started out as a trained graphic designer in the 80's when things started to change rapidly from analog to digital. I was one of the first designers who started with Pagemaker 1.0 and trained many graphic professionals at designstudio's, advertising agencies and publishers.
After some ten years looking at every pixel on teh screen and always worked with too tight deadlines, my eyes begame a problem. It took time to focus between the screen and the outside world. The doctor told me blunt that I have to change profession and so I learned myself the journalistic trade.
Esthetisch Technisch 1981 — 1985
Used to be the Grafische MTS Amsterdam. I was trained there as a graphic designer. Realy learned the trade at publisher Bonaventura, working for the titles Focus, Elseviers Magazine, Beleggers belangen, OOr, Hitkrant, Man & Focus
