My goal is full-time freelance copy editing and copy writing.
I have over ten thousand hours of grammar instruction and writing practice between my education and my personal correspondences. I love my monthly dose of copy editing from LSB, and my Title List continues to grow.
On a computer, I have yet to meet a program that was less than moderately intuitive. I am proficient with all of the MS Office components. For writing, I'm using MS Word with track changes. I foresee no difficulty with other platforms, as I started with WordPerfect in college and used MS Works for correspondence.
For visual arts, I have the patience to tinker with any computer program until the display is as dramatic as my vision. I am proficient in PowerPoint, ChaosPro, 602 Photo, and PhotoExpress. I am tinkering with Alice as a prelude to learning more animation. I have used AdobeIllustrator occasionally.
After MAS90, I can quickly and easily learn other accounting programs such as Quicken, QuickBooks, and Peachtree, despite limited practice.
I am constantly learning new skills. Currently, I am learning html. The psychology of sales and advertisements remains a fascination. Anything new interests me.

Bad or Twisted Humor:
Q: Do you know how to put two windows side by side?
A: Well, first you have to frame the holes into the house so that the finished windows are properly aligned... (For the computer, you'll just hafta tinker.)

First, I examine copy for prescriptive grammar, stilted language, concrete details, psychological plausibility, continuity, repetition of rare words or common phrases, and factual accuracy. Although I mentally diagram each sentence, I accept subjective grammar to maintain the tone of the work. If needed, I send the copy to author for revisions. Then, I line edit to ensure clarity, logic, and flow. I assess the necessity of gerunds, adverbs, and passive verbs. I ensure that any and only material related to one subject is in a single paragraph. Next, I run grammar check. At the author’s discretion, I may add the keywords, tagline, mini-blurb, and blurb. Finally, I return the copy in a timely manner.

I anticipate what my foreman needs and have it ready before he knows that he needs it. I am primarily an apartment painter when the college kids are playing musical apartments.
I also created a photo-illustrated, step-by-step manual for the pressure washing division that explained how to use the machines, how to protect landscaping, and how to avoid common pitfalls.
(Civic & Social Organization industry)
May 2008 — December 2008 (8 months)
I have scraps from making bunnies and bears, and I cannot bear to waste, so I turn my scraps into mice for the MOAS shelter.
(Since I have not cut any animals recently, I have no scraps.)
(Arts and Crafts industry)
February 2008 — November 2008 (10 months)
I make 25 inch bunnies, bears and cats for marketing at craft fairs. Although I use non-jointed, seamstress construction, I make these animals with great care. My eyes are incredible, divided into thirty-two segments and painted with no less than five, hand-mixed, metallic paints to ensure individuality.
I have several available: bunny - grey with purple and silver eyes, bear - tan on tan tipped with green eyes, bear - baby blue with blue eyes, cat - black with green eyes, bunny - white with peach markings and hazel eyes, bunny - solid white with blue-green color shifting eyes, bunny - pink with blue eyes.
I will gladly make one to meet anyone's specific desires. (Lavender fur is unavailable from any supplier that I can find.)

March 1997 — May 1997 (3 months)
I answered phones for various companies including Hi-Health and Chase MasterCard. Here, I learned formal telephone etiquette: "Please bear with me one moment..."
(Oil & Energy industry)
September 1996 — January 1997 (5 months)
I greeted my customers with a smile. At close, I noted the gallons of gas and oil sold during the day. I also cleaned the store every evening.
(Construction industry)
July 1990 — August 1991 (1 year 2 months)
During most breaks in High School, I worked here. I learned payroll, bank rec, and accounts payable. I learned data entry, filing, phone etiquette and other basic office skills.
1992 — 1996
I have enough credits for a Bachelor in Liberal Arts but no degree. My GPA is >3.0, but I really don't remember exact details.
Learning: My main interest is learning to do new things, but I like learning new information. Sewing: *wink* It's hard to get that perfect Rockabilly dress if you can't make your own, particularly when you don't want to be overexposed. Painting: There's nothing like painting houses all day then coming home to paint bunny eyes. Tutoring: I love teaching young people new skills.
I've just learned the importance of associations; I'll see what happens here.
The greatest honor in my life is the simple silver ring on my left hand.
