As a 15+ year veteran in the IT industry, there isn't much that I haven't implemented, troubleshot or studied. I started my IT career off at Computer Wares as a road technician troubleshooting licensed, wireless connections for grain elevators across Illinois and Indiana. When I wasn't running across the countryside troubleshooting, I was in the shop repairing personal computers and learning about servers.

After the Internet took off a few years later and licensed wireless turned into VPN's, I started to learn about networking and servers. I focused on Microsoft products due to the usability they had shown with their NT 3.51 products. I started with NT 4.0 and learned the inner workings of it. I sprouted into a jack-of-all-trades, doing such things as designing, implementing, supporting and designing web-apps for small to medium businesses in our local area. With a firm understanding of LAN, WAN and Security, there isn't much that can't be done in today's industry.

I left Computer Wares in 2010 for a job in the St. Louis area. I pretty much contain myself to implementing new technologies as a Project Engineer for Acropolis. In the first year, this role was a drastic change from how I’d been working. Having the ability to somewhat focus on one role of a project has enhanced my work environment and allowed me to grow my expertise immensely.

My favorite type of work is using Fortinet products and Exchange. I like the way they work and what they do and feel I can put them in any scenario and make them do whatever is needed. I also have now had my hands all over Exchange 2010, and I can say I really enjoy it. I like to make things simple and easy. As I get older, I now see why my previous boss complained about “that 2000" operating system and how complex it was for such a simple feat.
