Brian Kerr’s Experience

  • Moving part

    Different Chairs

    (Civic & Social Organization industry)

    February 2008Present (6 months)

Making things. Currently doing a deep dive into Django, the 'web framework for perfectionists with deadlines,' to deliver a few client sites. These folks need web sites and applications that fit their businesses like comfortable gloves in a Michigan winter.

  • Human-internet duct tape

    Sole Proprietorship

(Sole Proprietorship; Myself Only; Internet industry)

    April 2007January 2008 (10 months)

    A variety of techno-social-network-media integrations.

Toolkit tag cloud: content management systems, social networks (Facebook platform, advertising ecosystems), and whatever else it took to get the job done.

Client industry tag cloud: internet marketing, nonprofit management support, nonprofit social service, social media + networking, various pithy startups.

A highlight for me was helping organize and facilitate ArbCamp, a one-day open space event held in October 2007. For the 100+ people who participated, I think it gave a taste of what things could be like here if we were just a little better connected and if we had just a little stronger and more readily available infrastructures to build on.

  • University of Michigan

    BA, English, 19992001

I was an undergraduate. I figured out what I wanted to not do with my life. I fell in love. And, like a tiny, fragile duckling, I appear to have imprinted on the city of Ann Arbor.
