Originally a database programmer/SQL geek: first dBase III, then Fox(Base|Pro), and eventually Perl and Sybase. I've written a few technology books, including co-authoring Mac OS X for Unix Geeks. I spend most of my time working for MAKE, where I edit books, manage book projects and budgets, hack microcontrollers, and develop software (Perl, PHP, MySQL) for online publishing initiatives.
