Biz Stone is co-founder of Twitter, a messaging network changing the way we communicate. For the past decade, Stone has been working on large scale projects that facilitate the open exchange of information starting with social networking and blogging service Xanga in 1999. In 2003, Stone moved to Google where he met and collaborated with Twitter co-founder Evan Williams—the pair would later exit the search company. Twitter was founded in 2007.
Stone has published two books on the origins and social significance of our changing communication landscape and has lectured around the world on this subject as well as others including creativity, opportunity, and entrepreneurism. Together with his wife Livia, Biz focuses his philanthropic endeavors on education, health, and environmentalism. Originally from Boston, Stone lives with his wife in Marin County California.

Community scholarships sent me to Northeastern after high school. The classes and professors were great but I didn't love the culture so I only studied for one year.

I took a full four-year scholarship to this school but it didn't keep me there. I left after a year.
