President, Perinatal Education Assoicates, Inc.
Dayton, Ohio Area
My professional experience includes:
Leadership. I believe that leadership is the Influencing of a group of people to move towards its goal setting or goal achievement. For the past 30 years, through workshops, print media and the internet, I have been mentoring birth professionals to move toward evidence-based and research positive practices. By holding those accountable to evidence-based practice, financial accountability, and professional performance standards, I feel I have made considerable contributions to this industry of birth.
Program Development. My previous and current positions include creating one of the first 10 hospital based doula programs in the US; creating a doula program for a non-profit community organization; creating educational curriculi.
Financial Management. My previous position at Medical Center in Dayton Ohio showed an assumption of a department in negative dollars and turning it around in 18 months to show a profit. My current position as President of Perinatal Education Associates demonstrates turning an initial investment of $500 into an international corporation.
Marketing and publications for international organizations. My previous positions have included Director of Conventions, journal editor, Director of Publications.
Leadership, vision, moral and ethical character - someone who walks the walk and talks the talk, trustworthiness; professionalism, confidnece, positive demeanor, committed to excellence, thinks analytically, tolerant of ambiguity, patient mentor, consistency, emotional strength, compassion.
