    After attending a local community college, I was one of the first in very long line of students to complete the Graphic Design program taught in Atlanta by Ray Shead. I am proud to say that graduates of this special program, that was active for over twenty years, are now art directors, designers and creative directors at leading agencies nationwide.

    I then completed courses Ray Shead organized as special creative "boot camps" for graduates in the form of evening classes taught by leading Art Directors and Creative Directors from agencies in Atlanta. This was before programs like Portfolio Center and Creative Circus were created.

    As a kid, I drew "blinky" (a cartoon in an ad in the back of a magazine), won a "scholarship" and completed the Famous Artist's Correspondence Course. As silly it may sound, the program was actually a lot of challenging work. I'll never forget it, and it helped convince me I had special talent.
