Director of Product Management at Outright
San Francisco Bay Area
I joined FairMarket in May of 1998 and worked for 5.5 years in Product and Account Management as well as Sales Engineering. In these roles I helped the Business Development team close deals and then supported the customers when they signed. eBay acquired the assets of the company in 2003 and I moved out to support the application and specifically the customers served by the Strategic Partnerships Group. We've expanded the role of the team to include a second platform that was developed inside eBay to provide rapid country deployment and have grown all parts of the team (product development, QA, and PM) in response to the increased demand for our services.

In addition to the responsibilities described in the previous section, we expanded the team to include an additional platform and the developers and QA teams that support it. This platform (ROW) was originally developed to support expansion into international markets and launched sites in Europe and Asia.
Since the most recent reorganization, I now report into the VP for New Business and manage a team of Product Managers that support the FairMarket and ROW platforms. My team develops innovative solutions for our internal and external customers and supports the New Business objectives. Some of the sites built by the team include (in addition to the sites already listed in the previous position):
FairMarket:

ROW:

Since moving to eBay most of the team has continued to support the FairMarket platform and the various applications leveraged by eBay:
* Private Marketplaces-
Working in an ASP model, we power custom B2B marketplaces that leverage dynamic pricing formats to maximize return for the site owners.

* Loyalty and Promotions-
At eBay our platform has powered points-based programs for Coke, Dr. Pepper, Hershey's, Valvoline and many others. These were tied into the eBay authentication system to make it easy for our community to gain access to the program benefits. An example of a non-point based promotional is: http://ebaysupplies.usps.com
* Custom Content Sites-
The platform was also leveraged as a promotional tool for partners.
