2001 — 2004 (3 years )
I joined LCH to move the "first of a kind" SwapClear service forward. I lead the development of service enhancements, service management, and the close contractual relationship with OTCDerivNet. Projects worked on included a full RFP to extend the service to process Swaptions with bidders including Calypso, Algorithmics, Summit and others, plus adding support for compounding accrual calculations into the service.

1998 — 2001 (3 years )
I joined Barclays in 1998 8 months prior to the beginning of European Monetary Union. I worked for the Head of the EMU Programme to structure and direct the preparations and planning for the single biggest capital markets transformation project ever to occur: a one time chance to convert all the "old" currencies into the Euro, which was successfully completed. I then moved into the OTC Operations department to create a team to analyse and implement the hundreds of ISDA CSA agreements that Barclays had executed, including specification and development of a system to process all OTC derivatives for margin purposes, hiring staff, and building the teams profile externally and internally. This role lead me to lead the implementation of the LCH SwapClear service for Barclays, and also the SwapsWire service for the Rates trading desk.

August 1993 — August 1996 (3 years 1 month)
I joined ML at the early stages of trading in Rate Swaps, and worked with the traders, middle office and operations teams to write and deploy a trading to settlement IT infrastructure including trade capture on the desk. The system "blotter" survives to this day and enabled ML to lead the OTC rates trading space at the time. I managed a team of software developers who serviced the needs of the entire UK OTC trading business, and coordinated and shared efforts with the US team where possible. Later, I spent time working in the US to facilitate the selection of a strategic document generation and management system for the OTC business to process OTC trade confirmations from end to end.
