Managed end-to-end IT infrastructure planning, acquisition, implementation, and operations for transportation, warehousing, and logistics provider, administering hardware, networking, and business applications; served as a key agent of change and technological progress for a substantial expansion of corporate capabilities and improvement to productivity and performance. Conducted extensive business analysis to develop innovative, technology-based solutions to common business functions and automate key processes such as reporting. Served in Web and database design and administration functions; managed VoIP telephony. Led employee technology training efforts.

• Spearheaded complete transformation of enterprise IT model from dumb terminals to PC workstations, installing a high-speed, VPN-enabled network in a Windows environment; utilized Active Directory for network resource management, Microsoft Exchange Server to enable corporate email, and MS SQL Server to support HR and payroll administration.

• Transitioned communications from frame relay to VPN voice / data solution serving 3 locations.

• Migrated from SCO UNIX host to IBM RS/6000 Server, single-handedly managing application source code and database conversion processes.

Held responsibility for IT management supporting pawn shop chain with 50+ locations and 400+ employees, providing corporate, remote, and onsite implementation, operation, and issue resolution support; designed, developed, installed and maintained SCO UNIX hosts for all locations and served as primary technical support for new store / site launches. Managed IT assets and operating budgets; oversaw a technical team of two, conducting all training, performance management, and coaching.

• Spearheaded corporate migration from Novell Netware to Microsoft server environment and leveraged Microsoft Exchange as a mail server.

• Collaborated with Florida police departments to provide required data; utilized innovative scripting to automate the data development and delivery process.

• Identified and corrected accounting errors in key reporting data.

• Directed all IT acquisitions and implementations spanning servers, workstations, dumb terminals, and peripheral hardware, skillfully managing vendor selection and relations.

1993 – 1997 (4 years)

Responded to distributor and customer requests for support related to OEM RAID and SCSI adapters and sub-storage systems. Established training function and led education delivery at distributor and customer sites for OEM RAID and SCSI technology; provided as needed field service.
