For 6 1/2 years I was managing editor of Spirituality & Health magazine. I have a vast knowledge of spiritual seeking topics, alternative therapies (I graduated from a four-year healing school and have a minister's degree, although I'm not a practicing minister), and eclectic interests in self-change and healing. I also was an actor for 10+ years and still write fiction.
I would like to put my writing and editing skills to use to create books or other materials having to do with the arts or spiritual/mind-body/alternative therapies topics. I'm particularly interested in ethics in the burgeoning field of alternative therapies and have written extensively about such things.
I'm interested in change through the arts and also through therapeutic modalities that have been scrutinized, tested, and challenged for their efficacy.
I believe writing can contain an energy that can elicit change, and I would like to create work and edit other people's work that sings!
Excellent management and organizational skills. Large roladex of writers and other people to create projects.
Strong marketing background.
Contacts in the world of spiritual psychotherapy.
Sense of humor (I write funny). Excellent (and speedy) editor.
Write/edit books, articles, marketing, cover copy, jackets, catalog copy. The chops I developed as a playwright serve me in other areas of writing. I know structure and storytelling, as well as Chicago Manual of Style.

I have edited numerous articles and books in the area of spiritual psychology, including "Chasing Elephants: Healing Psychologically With Buddhist Wisdom" by Diane Shainberg, Ph.D. (Asti-Rahman Books, 2000) and articles for "Energy & Consciousness, International Journal of Core Energetics" (Jacqueline Carleton, Ph.D., Editor). Many of the pieces were by non-English speakers, and I “scalpel edited” to retain their voices and energy while revising the work into well-written text. I've written tons of promotion (press releases, catalog copy, etc.) for an array of businesses from the arts and psychological practices to a manufacturer of police training gear.
