While I have consulted as an art therapist for various organizations, including L.I. State Veterans Home and Gurwin Geriatric, my first love is painting. For me, painting is the equivalent of breathing. My artwork is diverse but my specialty is abstract mixed media. The materials used in my work include collage, acrylic, watercolor, newspaper, yarn, tissue paper, wax, gesso, rice paper, corrugated board, and sandpaper.
I have won many awards for my art (some are noted below), including Awards of Excellence, the Grumbacher Medallion, and the Julia Cohn Award of Creativity. I am the recipient of the George M. Estabrook Award from Hofstra University, the “Woman of Distinction in the Arts” award from the Town of Oyster Bay, as well as the “Woman of Distinction in Community and Civic Affairs,” for my efforts and activities to enrich the cultural life of the community. I lecture at universities, and give workshops and demos to art leagues.
