PhD @ OrangeLabs & U.Paris-X "Diffusion of social services"
Paris Area, France
I am taking three years to understand the success of social services (messaging, telephone, night-clubs, contact-based sites, etc.) based on the structure of the underlying network. I isolated new elements, offered new elements to forecast a diffusion from them and suggested new approach to competition.
I am trying to isolate what are the evolution at stake because of digital technology.
Used to be an Energy consultant, I am still thinking of what to do next: use my results to help launches, go back to consulting, try setting up a company, teach Internet economics; any advise is welcome.

I'm studying communication services (anything that has no interest if you are not aquainted with another user: fax, phone, e-mail, parties, tele-surgical equipement, etc.) and how their usage base can spread.
It's word-of-mouth applied to social scale-free networks: lots of heavy maths, and lots of cordination and rationality discussion.

The diffusion of a communication service in a social network.
I apply Albert & Barabasi (2000-06), MEJ Newman et al. (2001-06) to a service like B. Arthur (1987) increasing returns: there are local lock-ins because there are social clustersin spite of small worldbut has the structure is so unfair, their stabilty depends on power-user and interpretations.
