Bernie Mack has been working professionally as a Recording Engineer for the past 15 years, which started by his founding of SoundHouse Studio. Since 1996 he worked at Star Trax Recording, a Chicago based recording studio, with very diverse clientèle in the music, advertising and multimedia industries.
In 1999, Mr. Mack brought his expertise to higher education, becoming a faculty member at the International Academy of Design and Technology teaching digital audio. As part of his work, he was responsible for the maintenance of the multimedia department’s audio courses. At the academy, he was named “Distinguished Educator of the Year” for the years 2001 and 2004. In addition he taught music recording at Columbia College Chicago for 8 years. He then moved on to Flashpoint, The Academy of Media Arts and Sciences where he currently holds the position of Associate Chair for the Recording Arts Program.
Mr. Mack’s recording and equalization techniques have been published in various audio textbooks as well as professional periodicals.
