Vice President Business Development at CompareNetworks, Inc.
Albany, New York Area
My passion is in helping old media make the leap to "new" media and to do so in a way that helps them remain a vital and growing business. (Note: For purposes of my definition old media = any firm in publishing (e.g. textbooks, journals, magazines, etc.)
Formerly I was the Vice President of Business Development at GlobalSpec. In this roll I is responsible for driving all strategic partnership including key collaborations the likes of Google, Microsoft, Autodesk, IEEE, ANSI, McGraw-Hill, etc. and the subsequent development of new incremental SEO traffic, partnerships and sales channels.
Earlier in mys career, Bruce worked at various positions within publishing, advertising and sales management before founding (1986) a media production firm that focused on television-based curriculum content development and was one of the pioneers in the use of digital video (MPEG) in an effort merge the “Impact of TV with the Power of the PC”. Those early digital video programs were awarded Product of the Year 1996 by Media & Methods and proved to be ground-breaking in the development of future multi-media based instructional/training programs. At Thomson he worked with TL’s executive management team to spearhead their MA&P efforts and transition from a print-based offering to a multi-media offering. He also served as Vice President of the Employee Marketing Group for Thomson’s Medstat division before joining GlobalSpec.
I earned Bachelors in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania along with Certificate in Film & TV production from The New School. In this free time Bruce enjoys basketball coaching, skiing and traveling with his wife and children.
