Bijal Thakore provides advanced engineering consulting and business development services at Big On Good Solutions, working towards solutions to challenges that move us towards good futures with specialities in process and product design, business strategy, quantitative analysis and operations. Until recently, Bijal was the Client Development Officer at LEGO Systems A/S for LEGO Play for Business. Prior to LEGO, she worked at the Composite Research Lab at AIRBUS, and at Rolls-Royce Defence Aerospace Ltd., working with the Future Projects Office and supported flight testing of next generation of Adour Mk951 Jet Engines. In addition, she worked at the US-based X PRIZE Foundation to develop various prize concepts for social entrepreneurship solutions to poverty and at the International Space University as a Teaching Associate, where she taught and researched next generation lunar robotics and infrastructure.
Bee was born in India, but has worked and lived in the UK, Canada, France, China and US. Bee has a Masters of Engineering in Aerospace (with Honours) from University of Bath and Masters of Space Management from the International Space University. She was elected as the Regional Coordinator for Asia Pacific for the Space Generation Advisory Council, for which she has been a vocal advocate for a number of years. Bee has been elected to the Board of Directors of The Planetary Society, and is a member of the International Astronautical Federation's advisory committee on Space and Society. She contributes to the work of UN Committee of Peaceful Uses of Outer Space regularly, and has recently been awarded the prestigious 2009 Women Engineering Society’s Young Engineer Award from the Institute of Engineering and Technology.
Bee speaks six languages fluently and is currently improving her French and Chinese; and enjoys traveling and flying.
