Currently, responsible for developing enterprise security strategy and architecting security solutions to ensure compliance with statutory and industry regulations such as PCI Data Security Standard 1.1, Sarbanes-Oxley, and SB1386; serving as a security subject matter expert (SME) by providing guidance to senior management and project team security analysts for new business initiatives and emerging technologies; evaluating security risk to develop security policy and standards for operational and strategic initiatives, enabling the organization to make informed business decisions; and leading an enterprise assessment team that provides network, application, and facility vulnerability assessments and penetration tests.
A skilled technologist with a background in UNIX administration and datacenter management. Successfully drove efficiency through a high level of automation to provide a server to administrator ratio of 100:1, over nine times the national average; architected and implemented all capacity planning, performance monitoring, and event monitoring systems for Alltel's Data Network Operations Center, which facilitated improved customer service for 350,000 DSL customers; and migrated ATM switch management systems during the acquisition of 1.9 billion dollars worth of Verizon assets, which contributed to an increase of over 100,000 DSL customers.
Very active in the security community. Serve as a SANS instructor for the only SANS Security Essentials and SANS Securing UNIX/Linux classes offered in Arkansas, resulting in a 95% GIAC certification pass rate. Active in local Infragard and ISACA chapters, as well as, a member of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Computer Science Advisory Board.
