    Provide E-rate support to education agencies in the Southwest, Northwest and North Central regions of North Carolina as a member of the K-12 School Connectivity team.

    The School Connectivity Program, established through NC Senate Bill 1741, is the culmination of several years of vision surrounding the 21st century classroom, and developing a North Carolina workforce poised to meet the challenge of a global economy. Connectivity Program partners, including the Friday Institute, e-NC Authority, NC Dept. of Public Instruction, NC Information Technology Services, and MCNC, are coordinating to develop a highly reliable and cost effective state education network linking all LEAs, community colleges, and universities.

    The E-rate program is administered by the Schools and Libraries Division of the Universal Service Administrative Company. The program was set up to ensure that all eligible schools and libraries have affordable access to modern telecommunications and information services.
