CTO at Unigo
Greater New York City Area
I am a senior level technologist with more than 16 years of software development under my belt. I am technology agnostic, having developed systems on numerous platforms and in many languages.
I have developed complex systems for the financial, education and media industries. My approach to software development starts with the usability and design of an application. I believe that you can only accomplish the goals of an application through a clean and elegant design.
I recently left The Princeton Review, where I was VP of Application Development and joined Unigo.com as the CTO. Unigo is a college review and social networking startup in NYC.
I am also involved with The SocialBloc Project, a digital media strategy think tank based in New York.
I joined The Princeton Review in late 2004. I was drawn to the Review by its reputation as a bleeding edge company and by my passion for educational software. My responsibilities included management of all (web and windows) software systems across the company serving as VP and Chief Architect.
Before The Princeton Review, I was at Zedak Corp. (my second stint there) where I was responsible for the management and architecture for Zedak's product and software development. I helped expand Zedak's product offering to large financial institutions, and the software I developed supported the multi-billion dollar revenue streams of clients such as UBS, PaineWebber and Morgan Stanley.
In August of 2000 I joined ACTV, a digital media company, which provided services and applications for digital television and broadcast enhanced media. Serving as Sr. Vice-President of Application Development, I was responsible for managing the development teams of all ACTV's web based applications. My purview included software development of all the subsidiaries of ACTV which included online media, education and gaming arms.
