Barry Egbert's Summary

I am a partner at Blackbox Enterprise Solutions; an IT Services company based near Salt Lake City, UT. My formal technical expertise and training is in Software Engineering. I'm currently working on a contract at the Department of Veterans Affairs, providing architecture support, and designing and developing J2EE applications and services for healthcare systems that store Veteran health information. The majority of my work experience has been designing and developing Java Enterprise applications using the various technical approaches.

As part of Blackbox business development efforts, my responsibilities are to help Government Prime contract holders develop technical approaches to meet requirements defined by the Government and ultimately win new work. Blackbox is currently teamed with several T4 Primes on different opportunities for which I analyze technical requirements and devise technical approaches that answer to the government requirements. I’ve support proposals for many VA projects, such as, Repositories, VLER, and My Health-e-Vet. My support to these efforts generally includes developing win strategies and themes, helping the Prime Contractor understand the technical nature of the problem, defining and writing to the technical solution, developing concept graphics, and identifying the value proposition that the technical solutions being presented provides.

I'm a progressive thinker. I like trying new things and new technologies. I don't mind working on the bleeding edge but tend to choose technologies that have been proven. I have a great passion for what I do and consider myself one of those lucky individuals that likes going to work each day.

My goals are to continue developing my skills, provide excellent technical leadership and direction to the organizations that I serve, take advantage of opportunities for professional growth, and provide a superior value to my clients.
