Barry Demp’s Summary

When you do what you love, you never work a day in your life. I stopped “working” in that regard during the 1992 summer Olympic Games. There were 5,000 athletes in the Olympic Village that year, and 2,000 coaches. That fact, and its results, made me realize that all great athletes have a sustainable, rigorous partnership with a coach.

Watching the Olympics that year, I realized that bringing a coaching model to the "game" of business was a great idea. Business people need ongoing, sustainable and supportive coaches if they are to implement and apply what they learn, and make it stick.

In 1993, I left a 12-year career with Upjohn Corporation and declared myself a business coach. I have been the local president of the International Coach's Federation, trained 45 other coaches, and worked with over 1,000 companies since that time. It is who I am, not just what I do for a living.

Ten years ago, I became the first Master Certified Coach (MCC) in the state of Michigan, from the International Coach Federation (ICF).

Today, I help executives, business owners, and high potential professionals significantly increase their performance, productivity, profitability, and personal lives through workshops, seminars, speaking engagements and customized coaching programs. My client list includes entrepreneurs, small business owners, professional service firms, consultants, coaches, and professionals in transition looking to start and grow their own business.

I am fortunate to serve as a board member of the Professional Coaches Association of Michigan (PCAM) and The Troy Chamber of Commerce. I'm passionate about helping individuals and organizations master the leadership, management, communication, and coaching skills needed in a rapidly changing world, and believe that you will have the life, career, and rewards you want when you can express your being in what you do.
