Barrou Diallo received a Ph.D. in Computer Sciences from the University of Caen. He also holds an M.Sc. in Biomathematics (Paris) and received a M.Sc. in Law and Cyberspace (Lille). As research scientist, Dr. Diallo published papers in the field of computer graphics, medical imaging and databases. He also joined large European companies to lead IT projects both in
France and Germany. He had a chair as Professor in the Chamber of Commerce of Le Mans and Assistant Professor at the University of Compiegne before entering, as an Examiner, the European Patent Office (EPO) in early 1999. As research project co‐ordinator, he launched the first real‐time European machine translation system for patents. He took over the management of the Applied Research Directorate in 2005. Currently, Dr Diallo holds the position of Head of Research and focuses his work on information retrieval, semantic web
technologies, machine translation for the Chinese language and automatic summarization.
